I guess Government is enforcing some rule soon :)! lets hope for the best?

Asma: Sister you are right, but no-one in my family had Thalassemia before us, but just my parents are first cousins and they both are minor, ager dono ne test kerwa lia hota to hum yahan na hote :D but sab kuch Allah ke hath hai, we are no-one to say anything :) Allah ki maslihat wohi janta hai

But mein sirf aik baat kehti hon ke as a Thalassemic I know how I suffer and my parents suffer, isliye I think this test shud be done!!

Take Cares, Allah Hafiz

Hmm... as far as thalassaemia is concerned ... if there's the disease in the family ... major and minor carriers are the possibilities, so in that case testing is a very good thing to do. coz if one minor carrier marries a person who's not a carrier children usually dont have the disease ... but if both parties are the minor carriers then the risk increases ... don't know about the minor ones...!

But if there is such disease in your family even cancers like ovarian cancer, breast cancer, and certain others then the risk for you to get the disease increases by 5-15% ....
!

Baaqi Allah malik hay!

Take carez!

These tests should be mandatory for every couple getting married. In fact a campaign should be launched –No Test – No Nikah!

I am not sure if I agree to the philosophy behind this one...this will be like isolating all the virus carriers..I will comment on this post later with a detailed analysis - when I am sane enough!
