Lets talk about Yateem I mean Wateen!

I don’t want to be rude, mean, ill mannered and blah blah.. but I really can’t control anymore ;p 😀 LOL!

Let me share my experience about Wateen *I call it yateem*:

Ordered Wateen in March, gave them payment + 11 months cheques, and after giving them they sent two of their employee to check signals (am impressed.. how cute hai na? you get the money and then send the team to check whether customer would get signal or not :/) khair.. they came, checked and we got only 1 signal and that also after trying so much…

Next morning they send us our device, we installed it.. got only 1 signal and now we were waiting for the Wateen’s call for activation of our account…., after getting activation call we tried the user name and password, but it didn’t work…

We complained at Wateen, at Franchise from where we bought device, they ask us to give the device back.. as they think that device has some issues and they promised that they will send their employee the next day with some other device… we had transfusion.. we asked them to send employee after 3 pm..

Next day we came back and got a call that employee will be there by 6 pm, we waited for so long.. at 10:30 pm we hit bed as we were damn tired…, 11:30, door bell rang… look who’s here! YES!! the employee… CRAP!

He came with their office demo device… and that also without power cable, lan cable…I was pissed off and I didn’t care about anything and asked him these questions:

me: app ke 6 abhi bajay hain?

him: ma`am mein abhi office se araha hon (and he told salman that he is coming from his home)

me: hum ne app ko bataya tha na… ke 6 ke baad mat ana.. phir? 11:30 bajay app kisi ke ghar aa ker installation ker rahe hain.. kahan ka way of working hai yeh?

him: am sorry ma`am…

the next question he asked made me literally swear at him:

him: woh app ki device kahan hai?

mera dil chah raha tha ke us ko ghar ke bahir hi utha ke phaink don…

me: app ka dimagh kharab hogaya hai??? device to app ke office gayei hai.. app office se arahe hain ya moun utha kar ghar se?

him: hmm acha us ki wires?

me: device + wires sab app ke office mein pari hai, app aye kion hain? aur aye hain to laye kia hain? sirf device utha kar le aye?? muft mein li hai kia hum ne device?

I snatched the device, did all the wires thing (we have spare wires, what if someone doesn’t have? one whole day waste? yeah)

After plugging into computer when Salman turned on the computer, it gave windows corrupt error…

We asked the employee to go and leave the device and user name pass here… he gave us 10 user names and pass for trial and left…

Next day after trying so much only one user name and pass worked, but just after 30 minutes device stopped getting any signal… tried so much but nothing worked…

We asked them to take their device back and asked our cousin to fill the refund form, Franchise owner + Wateen promised to pay us refund within 1 month…

After waiting 1 month 5 days, I called Franchise owner, and am really very impressed by the way he works, most of the time his cell would be off, most of time he would be at his home, most of the time he would be sick and having leave from office… and whenever luckily he picks my call he made lame excuse:

him: app meri behan hain, baji hain, please wait kerjayen.. mujhe app ka refund nahi mila hai

me: yeh rishtaydariyan app baad mein banana.. phele mujhe mere paise wapis chahiye…

After realizing that he won’t understand I directly went to his Franchise, as-usual he wasn’t at office when I called him he said I can’t come before 2 hours, we complaint about the Franchise owner’s behaviour and our refund on Help line, Head of the Franchises *karachi* wrote all the details and told us that she will call us within 24 hours… before that I already had lodged many complaint about refund and franchise on Wateen’s help line..

We left the Franchise, just after 1 hour I got a call from Head of the Franchises, She promised me that she will pay my refund the very next day…. and she apologized for whatever problems I faced because of them…

I finally got my refund back… they deduct 1000 for something, no idea for what… but as it is said, something is better than nothing..

So this was my experience with Yateem Wateen

And know what.. my cousin who told us about Wateen himself gave his 3 devices back to the Franchise because of signal issue… my other friend from Rawalpindi (who used to make us jealous that he have 1 mb connection) is complaining about Wateen’s service now a days… LOL!

So.. don’t you think that Wateen is really Yateem ;p?

    You are doing great now.
    Sorry that you had a bad experience.Being my self attached to telecom field, I can say you that there will be some problem with WiMAX, because this is first ever commerical WiMAX network in the world. Currently, devices are the only problem that are holding this technology back. So hopefully it will be sorted out in couple of month. Anyhow, I liked you comments, you went out from your sad trauma

    Dear See every compeny has two main Parts 1.Adminstration or Manegments 2. Services.both of thinks are most important for compeny.if service lose of compeny then it is imposible for stand all time of the compeny and second if manegment lose then it can be correct.wateen is also fasing like that problems i am using wateen since last 5 month and never i find wateen is not working on good signalse always problem in face by no signalse and always signalse occure where wateen employes said this is coverge area.so it is clear that wateen service is not bad and i am sure one day wateen again stand with big happeness of the peoples.

    I cannot help you with wateen market strategies, but if you want to know about WiMAX, I think I can do that. Anyway, if you want to know about WiMAX marketing, then you can leave a comment here

I had same similar problem got my connection in feb 2008 few days were good I had no signal problem but it was disconnection sometimes five six times in an hour then this was resolved after my wimmax drivers were updated then then since April my download started getting slower and slower from around 55 kbs to 68 kbs it went down to 10 kbs I made a complain they tried different settings in my computers but how can they improve the service if the service being provided is slow. I came to realization that its time for me to terminate this service went to their franchise office in Islamabad got reality check that they will not take the device back unless the box in which it came is also given back and my bad luck that I misplaced the box I was so angry and upset with there personal that I just offered them just don’t give me anything type of refund but stop cashing my checks and they wanted me to take the device back but I gave someone in their franchise office as a gift got a receipt of return of the device and I was also informed that just in case call your bank to stop payment of checks when I informed my bank they charged me with Rs. 150/- per check in my case total of 8 checks.

    In conclusion my long long story,s moral is never give out advance payment to any one unless you want to pardon my language cut your balls off. Wateen has stated something so good but too bad they are really letting everyone down in customer service.

  9. WATEEN is really YATEEM…..

    We decided to have wateen for our office. I visited their website & sent a request from their website. Very next day (on 16th of May) I got two e-mails & a call from franchise. They wanted to visit my office. After 2.pm Mr. Aamir Raza came to my office & guided me about Wateen’s Services. He gave me a form to fill & I paid him. He told me that you will receive our device only in two or three days. But after ten days I didn’t receive any device  I daily called him but the same situation appeared (Cell off or Damn Excuses)
    Then I decided to visit their franchise (Karachi). On 27th of May I went to franchise office I met there Mr. Faisal Raza Zaidi. He Said

    “Sorry sir for inconvenience, I will definitely send you our engineers tomorrow & I must take action against Mr. Aamir. Ese Log Wateen ko badnaam kar rahe hain.”

    I happily came back, but my happiness finished when after 5days no one came to my office. I called Mr Faisal Raza Zaidi. Then same situation started with his numbers.

    Then I decided to complain directly to their complain center. On 2nd June I called
    111-365-111. when operator came online (Miss Iram Ali) I told her my all story about YATEEM.
    I blocked complain. After few minutes she called me & gave me my complain Number. That is 50718. She was assuring me that

    “We will definitely take action against the concern person.”

    I said: I don’t need any action against them; I just need your service. Kindly send me your device or whatever you install.

    And after that I am habitual to call on 111-365-111 & daily send them some abuses and still waiting for service or action or My PAYMENT 

  10. I have not tried wateen WiMax but personally believe that in out country it takes long for something to settle down. We don’t have planning for roads, colonies and Electricity connections so services take time. Anything you get that involves wireless (Wireless telephony, TV, internet) the quality of service is effected by your surroundings. I think we should get something new and expensive after getting reviews from person living in same area or circumstances. A lot of friends of mine have bought Wateen and half of them are un satisfied. Same is the case with PTCL DSL. So try try again will help us i guess.

    i read your experiences with wateen it’s realy yateem.wateen was good in past i mean after launching and i had very bad experiance with it,then shifted to LinkdotNet it’s really really quality service and i am happy with it.

    So go try once.

  13. Well according to me… wateen is working fantastic for me.. i never had any issues with it.. Always i get 5 signals and awesome download speed… so i will say that if you are a resident of rawalpindi sceheme 3 or chaklala region you should prefer wateen because of its edge technology it gives double the speed and never cuts off.. this lady didn’t had any signal so she should have refused earlier… its her fault ..

    and i love wateen customer service… its the best i think coz those guys don’t leave you alone untill ur problem is fixed… thumbs up for wateen…

  14. Hahaha… I haven’t used wateen. But Wateen users can’t open my site and they have to refresh the page to open because wateen guys are too lazy to refresh their cache

  15. I have also problems with Wateen after more than one year being wateen’s customer i have now been suddenly declared as out of coverage???????????????

    this is insane: Defence Housing Authority, Phase-2 Extension, Karachi is out of coverage area.

    This is really Yateem not Wateen. this is not Wimax this is Jaye-Max

  17. i’ve got a 1mb connection too a year back, it was working fine till last few month n the same problem i’m running with…… complaints…. complaints….. complaints…. n at the end no response n lame excuses…… sir ap ka pc nhe thek ap k notebook ki windows corrupt ha….. ‘damn man! i bought original windows for £376 n u’re sayin its corrupted’…. ur connection sucks n now u started to piss me off….

    THOSE BARELY TECHNICIANS CALL THEM ENGINEERS WHAT A PITTY
    IF THE BUGGERS HAD TO CAUSE ALL THIS FUSS WHY THEY STARTED ALL IN THE NAME OF SERVICE
    THERE I NO FAULT OF FRENCHISERS I SUPPOSE BUT WARID WHO STARTED ALL THIS FILTHY ROTTEN ACT
    THEY HAD A TOWER DOWN IN CAPITAL CITY AND ARE NOT ABLE TO ERRECT IT AFTER SIX DAYS WHAT AN ENGINEERING SAGA THEY ARE IMPOTENTS TECHNICALY AND BANKRUPT FINANCIALY I SUPPOSE
    THEY CAN NOT GET IT ERRECTED
    THEY SHOULD NOT CLAIM TO BE A SERVICE PROVIDER INSTEAD A TROUBLE CREATOR IN THE NAME OF TECHNOLOGY
    THEY ARE A BLACK SHEEP

  19. Wateen is worst Internet provider over wireless carrier, I tried it, they just ask for money and then Internet never worked, then you have to wait for 2/3 months to get your money back, with soem deductions.

    You’re right to call them Yateem
