Ek teri chahat hai aur ek meri chahat hai
Magar hoga wohi jo meri chahat hai
Pas agar tu ne supard kar diya us ke
Jo meri chahat hai
To mein bakhsh doonga wo bhi

Par agar tu ne naafarmani ki us ki
Jo meri chahat hai
To mein thaka doonga tujh ko us mein

  2. Ayesha, can you tell me where the Hadith is from? Since I have heard this as a child but it looks like there are 40 Hadith Qudsi in total and none of them seems to be this one. So I am a little confused.

  3. Muneeba, all we are asking is the reference for the Hadith not denying it. We are trying to make sure it is authentic. I have heard this referred to as a Hadith Qudsi, but I cannot locate it in Hadith Qudsi collections, hence the question. Where is this Hadith from? if it is from one of Sahah-e-Sitta, please let me know. I am looking for its Arabic version.

  4. Just calling something hadith qudsi does not make it hadith qudsi. You need to be able to prove it. Where is it from? Who is the narrator? Bukhari? Muslim? Tirmidhi? Or who?
    In the absense of any evidence, there is absolutely no reason to believe that this is a hadeeth qudsi.

  5. It’s not hadith qudsi. I have been investigating on this quite long and found that it has always been referred as hadith qudsi but nobuddy can reference this to those 40 hadith or other (if any).

  8. Well I have spent a decade believing in this hadith n found it really useful while making any big or small decision from my education to marriage… I love it.. I believe it is true … But dear fellows I must say when its about the reference or authenticity of a hadith…,its not a joke or a small matter… We must comfirm it … Before saying that Allah said it coz if one says that Allah said it which Allah havent, its a big sin.. So before declaring it to be an authentic Hadith e qudsi one must make it sure … So dun worry if some ppl want to know the source…

  9. Unfortunately when we ask any authenticity people think we are questioning or we are not accepting it. These words are really worth reading & accepting but question is who said it ? We Shall also remember that referring something as prophet saying is also a sin. Now a days situation is not like what it was before we must ask for authenticity of every saying which is referred as Hadith. I can see so many people commenting that this is Hadith but no one is providing any reference number of Hadith & book. Its not just simple matter that we like it & we say it as Hadith.. We must also provide the reference. I will say again if anyone who say that this is Hadith please provide some reference so that i can also share this with others & can feel comfortable while saying it Hadith. May ALLAH Forgive us all

  10. As-salamu’alaikum, words are no doubt awesome. But we should post any hadith with full reference. Like Sahih Bhukahri: Vol 2: Hadith No: 134
    Bcoz now we cant share even its authentic, but if proper reference is provided there is no ambiguity in sharing with others.

  11. Indeed this poem is worth appreciation but those of you who called it a Hadeeth should know that if you have no knowledge about something then you should not claim anything regarding it. Not only did I see people claiming this to be a Hadeeth but when some people with a sound mind tried to verify it, they were snapped upon by those who think it to be no sin to spread a false Hadeeth. For such people I must quote the following Hadeeth.

    Waathilah ibn Al-Asqa` (radiyallaahu `anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam) said:
    “Verily, one of the worst lies is to ascribe to me what I have not said.”
    Reported by Al-Bukhari (3509) in his Saheeh. The wording is that of Al-Bazzaar. C.f. Al-Majma` (1/144); As-Saheehah (7/173-174).”

    No piece of literature, no matter how beautiful it may seem, should ever be declared the Word of Allah or the Prophet ﷺ unless it actually be that. And how do you people think there came about so many changes in the previous books of Allah like the Injeel and Taurat? It happened so because of the people like the ones over here who misquote Allah and His prophets.

    This poem ‘Aye Ibne Adam’ is a popular urdu poem but only a poem not a hadeeth. I truly appreciate the person who wrote such a beautiful poem, and I truly believe in these words to be true in what they convey. And this poem is not only eloquent in the language but also rich in the meaning. But no one should falsely call it a Hadeeth e Qudsi.

    To Ayesha who has posted this article I must say that it was kind of you to share these beautiful words but you should not have called it a Hadeeth. May Allah forgive you and give you the sense to not repeat this mistake again. And to Muneeba who said that ‘it IS a Hadeeth e Qudsi and that we should not say anything without making sure first, then Muneeba you should know that it is you who should not say anything without making sure first because it is not a Hadeeth e Qudsi. And this I am saying only after making sure of it. This poem was most likely originally written in Urdu by an Urdu poet because I have been hearing and reading it since around 13 years now and it has always been in Urdu. And it was amusing to see that when a person asked Ayesha on this forum to give an English version of it, she posted it. But when she was asked for an Arabic version of it, she could not produce it. Perhaps had this actually been a Hadeeth, there would have existed an Arabic version of it.

    It is not a small matter to misquote Allah and His Prophet ﷺ, it is a great sin! There are only 40 Hadeeth e Qudsi and I have gone through each of them very carefully to find this one amongst them but it was not there! Although Sister Maria had already mentioned that she has seen all the 40 Hadeeth e Qudsi but did not find this one to be one of them yet Muneeba had difficulty in understanding it and without any knowledge insisted that it was a Hadeeth e Qudsi. If you misquote the Prophet ﷺ even after being corrected then that is the sign of either only the most mischievous people or the most foolish. I hope for her sake that latter was the case. And despite the fact that Sister Maria had already checked the 40 Hadeeth e Qudsi and didn’t find this one amongst them, I still considered it necessary to read each of those Ahadeeth carefully before rejecting this false Hadeeth. And as this is not a Hadeeth e Qudsi thus this cannot be any Hadeeth at all, this is because had it been some other Hadeeth then the Prophet ﷺ would have mentioned Allah as Him and would not have used the first person instead of third person. And to those thick headed people who will still keep on calling this a Hadeeth, I do not need to describe the likes of you as you people have already been described by our beloved Prophet ﷺ in the very authentic Hadeeth that I have quoted above with reference.

    My query is what is the meaning of this hadees. How do we know about ”what Allah has thought good for us”. If one fails in an attempt, should he try to succeed by attempting again and again. Or leave it to Allah that He has not chosen it right for him.
    How should we pray?
    ALLAH Give me what is good for me.
    Tell your wish to Allah and ask Him to complete it as only He has the power to fulfil it.and ask Him to make that thing beneficial.
    Allah se fail honey k baad b yahi Dua kerna k TU SUNNEY GA ZAROOR AUR MAANAY GA BHI aur apni koshish jaari rekhna till u succeed………..ye tareeqa sahi he ya ghulut.

  15. I have heard this quote as a hadees. After reading this quotation, so many questions rose in my mind k Allah ki chah kiya he?Hum kub oos ki chah se mukhalif ja rahey hain?In seb ka andaza humen kaisey ho sakta he?What I think is simply trust in Allah Almighty that he is listening you and has all the power to fulfil the wish. And ask Allah to accept the wish and make it better for you. And ask Him accepting that He is the one who can do everything. Nothing is impossible for him. Keep trying again and again. Never loose hope on you and Allah Almighty.
    But if the wish still not come true , then don’t loose heart and dont get angry with Allah or complain Him as He must be thinking something better than what we were wishing for
    After reading this quote I got so confused.
    I also think this is not hadees as any of the other hadees are not in poetic form. Moreover, Nabi used the word ”Allah ki chahat” rather saying ”meri chahat.’

  16. Its a big sin to to say anything as the words of prophet which he has not said. Beware you are making hell your place of stay
    by saying so.Please repent to Allah its a biggest sin , first confirm and then quite. If its there then there is no problem .

  17. A simple answer for those who call this poem a Hadith to check the collection of Hadith qudsi, it’s not there , none of you were able to give reference and that is because there is none and it is a poem .
